Grosse Ile alumni, Brian Medved, had an idea.  He applied for and was awarded an Audubon Society Grant to plant a tree in memory of Steve Sims.  He planted the tree on the north end of the Grosse Ile Track and Football field and added mulch and border.   A memorial plaque was made from an original brick from the old Middle School building.  Many thanks to Brian Medved for a heart touching project.

Many runners, walkers, and spectators stopped at the Memorial Tree while at the Simsonian Run.
