2003 Lloyd's Evening
Friends of Sims gathered to share memories of good times they shared with Sims.  Contributions were accepted for the scholarship fund.  This has become an annual event, held the first Monday in May at Lloyd's on Grosse Ile.
2003 Silent Auction

Friends of Steve's, Ed and Jeanine Bottrell, held a silent auction of some classic "Sims" items.  Purchasers had the option of having their auction money to into the scholarship fund or into a separate fund that Jeanine and Ed set up to establish a permanent memorial on the island.  They raised enough money to have a drinking fountain with a bronze plaque installed along Steve's running route this Fall.  Thanks Jeanine and Ed!

2003 Simsonian 5k Kick Off Classic

The first annual Simsonian run was well attended and generously sponsored by many local companies and individuals.  Many thanks to Bill Stevenson and his committee and crew for a great day!

2004 Lloyd's Evening
Again, many Friends of Sims gathered at Lloyd's to reminisce.  Contributions were accepted for the scholarship fund and Lloyd's donated a portion of the proceeds from the sale that evening of Lloyds t-shirts.

2004 Simsonian 5k Kick Off Classic No. 2

The second annual Simsonian run was held on August 21, 2004.  Over 250 runners ran the 5k route that began at the Grosse Ile High School and ended at the Finish Line on the Grosse Ile High School track.  Music, prizes, shirts, and fruit and beverages were generously provided by:  The Pepsi Foundation, Wheat and Rye, Lloyds Bar and Grill, Total Runner, MBA Realty Group, JP Morgan, Hantz Group and Sounds Exclusive Entertainment. Again, many thanks to Bill Stevenson and his committee and crew.  Also, thanks to John Adams and Craig Morford of Greenville, and Jim Kordupal of Portage, who are long time cohorts of Steve's, for pitching in!

Steve Sims Drinking Fountain Dedication
Grosse Ile Township dedicated the Steve Sims Drinking Fountain on October 25, 2004 before their regular Township meeting.  Funds to purchase the drinking fountain were raised by Jeanine and Ed Bottrell.  The Township installed the new drinking fountain on the corner of Meridian and Church along Steve's usual running route.
